Preusser Research Group, Inc. (Trumbull, CT and Oxford, MS) is seeking a Behavioral Research Scientist/Project Manager to conduct behavioral research and evaluation studies in public health and highway safety. Advanced degree in Research Psychology, Statistics, Policy Analysis, Public Health, or Epidemiology required. Three years of experience conducting independent research in a university or similar research setting a plus. Applicants with extensive relevant experience in lieu of a Master’s or higher degree will also be considered. Program evaluation and survey design experience preferred. Basic statistical analysis skills are required; advanced statistical analysis expertise a plus.

The ideal candidate will have experience that includes:

  • Published research;
  • Experience in presenting research findings at professional conferences;
  • Excellent verbal communication skills (in both large and small group settings);
  • Managing project client relations, deliverables, budgets, and timelines;
  • Overseeing and directing personnel;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced yet flexible work environment;
  • Ability to travel in and out of state on a semi-regular basis;
  • Excellent technical report writing skills;
  • Experience in writing proposals and/or grant applications;
  • Strong background in research design and methodology;
  • Field data collection experience;
  • Knowledgeable in inferential statistics (t-tests, chi-squares at a minimum); and
  • Experience with statistical software packages such as SPSS.
