      It is SAVIR’s general policy to collect and store only personal information that its members and visitors knowingly provide. Information collected online is usually defined as being either “anonymous” or “personally identifiable”.

      “Anonymous information” refers to data that cannot be tied back to a specific individual. SAVIR does not collect any personal information from users browsing its public website. Only aggregate data (e.g. such as the number of hits per page, browsers and platform types) is collected. Aggregate data are only used for internal identifiable information.

      “Personally identifiable” information refers to data that informs SAVIR specifically who the visitor is. To gain access to “members-only” resources and personalized features on the SAVIR website, members are asked to provide limited information. This information is submitted voluntarily. SAVIR asks users to provide their name and login credentials for Login purposes, and to verify contact information for membership registration, conferences, and meeting registration.

      No release of information to third parties

      We do not rent, sell, give, exchange, or otherwise share personally identifiable information with for profit organizations. However, our members have access to and share with other members of our website certain publicly available information relating to their contact information and interests. Upon approval of SAVIR’s Board or Executive Committee, member lists including, postal addresses and email addresses may be shared for with other professional organizations for specific purposes.

      How we use the information
      Personally identifiable information you choose to give us will only be used by SAVIR to:

      • Send you our monthly email newsletter if you registered to receive it with the option to opt out of future mailings; and
      • Send you information, conference updates, announcements and current news with the option to opt out of future mailings.

      We will only use the information you give us on the website for the purposes described in this privacy policy.

      Payment Policy

      Payment information, such as credit card number and expiration date, is entered when joining SAVIR’s membership, registering for meetings/conferences or in making a donation. Should you have any questions regarding your payment contact us at (202) 955-3116. SAVIR uses Authorize.net as a secure payment gateway to process your online transactions. Your credit card information is encrypted when submitted to the processor and transmitted over a secure connection between your computer and our server using Secure Socket Layers (SSL), the industry standard, to ensure protection of your private information. This sensitive personal information is not shared with third parties other than the processor. Your credit card data is NOT kept on file.

      Refund/Return Policy

      All cancellations and requests for refund must be in writing and submitted to (admin@savirweb.org). Refunds will be made in the same manner in which payment was received, i.e., a credit will be issued on the same credit card to which a payment was charged; a check will be issued for payments made by check. Please note that no refund will be issued until the initial payment has cleared.

      SAVIR Membership

      SAVIR membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. SAVIR membership includes a subscription to the online version of Injury Prevention. No refunds are provided if a member decides to discontinue receiving the journal. Questions regarding membership, membership policies, and related membership benefits should be directed to the SAVIR Administrative Office (admin@savirweb.org).

      Conference & Meeting Registration

      SAVIR refund policies pertaining to meeting registration are clearly stated on all online and printed registration materials for conferences and meetings. Refund requests made by the stated deadline must be received in writing (admin@savirweb.org). For persons cancelling their registration by the specific deadline, a $30 administrative fee will be automatically assesses. No refunds will be given for any reason after the stated date in the conference/meeting registration materials.
